UNHCR Announces Expansion of its plan to help Sudanese

Sudan Events – Agencies

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)said on Tuesday that it had decided to expand its plan to help Sudan to include two other countries, Libya and Uganda, after tens of thousands of refugees arrived there in recent months.
Reuters quoted Ewan Watson from the commission as saying that at least 20,000 refugees have arrived in Libya since last year, with the number of arrivals accelerating in recent months, while at least 39,000 Sudanese refugees have arrived in Uganda.
He added, “This only indicates the miserable situation and the desperate decisions made by those who end up in a place like Libya, which is of course very difficult for refugees at the moment.”
