The official of the program to reduce illegal immigration and the voluntary return of Sudanese communities in Libya, Malik Al-Dijawi, expected that Sudanese refugees in Libya would face more complications in light of the complete absence of Sudanese humanitarian and foreign organizations.
According to “Sudan Tribune”, Al-Dijawi said that tens of thousands of Sudanese fleeing the war in Sudan who sought refuge in Libya are living in poor humanitarian situations in the city of Kufra, where all the capabilities allocated to it by the center have been exhausted, which has forced the local authorities to stop the flow of refugees.
He added, “This has exacerbated the situation in the border triangle area, which lacks any kind of services, as more than a thousand refugees fleeing the war in Sudan come to it every day, especially after the fierce battles in Al-Fasher.”
He pointed out that human traffickers and smugglers are exploiting the opportunity of the overcrowding of refugees in Libya in the Triangle area to transport them to the city of Kufra, and he said: “This has indeed happened, because every day hundreds head to the rest of the Libyan cities, but the number in the city of Kufra has not decreased.”
