Livestock Exports Decline

An official document issued by the National Chamber of Exporters at the Federation of Sudanese Chambers of Commerce revealed a decline in livestock exports during the period from September 2023 to June 2024.
The document obtained by (Sudan Events ) indicated that exports of live cattle (males) during this period to Egypt amounted to 53,440 heads, while exports of live cows to Egypt amounted to 33,108 heads, while the report indicated that exports of live sheep to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia amounted to 3,838 tons, and the report also stated that exports of sheep and goat meat for the same period to Saudi Arabia amounted to 1,033 tons.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Animal Resources, Dr. Hassan Al-Tom, explained in a previous interview with (Sudan Events ) that exports during the war period amounted to nearly five million heads, and the exports of live livestock during the year 2023 amounted to about 4,718.99 heads, while meat exports amounted to 5,894,756 tons with a return of $20,112,763, and leather exports recorded 1,756,028 pieces with a return of $1,442,306.
