President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council TSC, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces SAF ,Lt.Gen.Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, held a bilateral meeting with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, on Tuesday, at the Guest Palace, during which he discussed the bilateral relations between Sudan and Ethiopia.
President of the Sovereignty Council TSC said that the visit of the Ethiopian Prime Minister comes to indicate the depth of relations between the peoples of the two countries, indicating that it is an extension of the sincerity of the Ethiopian leadership and its good intentions towards Sudan, affirming the strength of relations between the two countries and the importance of preserving them.
Al-Burhan provided an enlightenment to the Ethiopian Prime Minister about the situation in Sudan against the backdrop of the rebellion led by the terrorist Rapid Support RSF Militia against the state and its institutions, indicating that the militia committed crimes and atrocities against the Sudanese people, addition to destroying the state’s infrastructure and targeting national institutions.
President of the Sovereignty Council TsC affirmed Sudan’s keenness to develop areas of cooperation with Ethiopia in order to serve the common interests of the peoples of the two countries.
Al-Burhan said in a tweet, “Thank you, Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of the sisterly Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, for your visit and your solidarity with the Sudanese government and people.”
For his part, the Ethiopian Prime Minister expressed his thanks to the President of the Sovereignty Council TSC for the hospitality and reception, indicating that his visit to Sudan comes in solidarity with the Sudanese people, and said that true friends appear in times of hardship.
Abiy Ahmed said that this visit came to affirm the support of Ethiopia, government and people, with Sudan, indicating that the visit is a message of solidarity with the Sudanese people in their ordeal.
He added, “This war will end and relations between the two countries will remain solid and strong,” noting the importance of peace as the basis for development, affirming that the problems of countries must be resolved internally without external interference.
In the same context, Abiy Ahmed said in a tweet, “Since the challenges facing the people of Sudan are also our challenges, and their peace is our peace, we are committed to working for the comfort and prosperity of the Sudanese people.”
