The European Football Association issued a new classification of the best European clubs, and the English Premier League champion, Manchester City, ranked first, while the Champions League champion, Real Madrid, ranked second.
Pep Guardiola topped the rankings, ahead of Champions League champion Real Madrid, while German giant Bayern Munich came in third place.
The UEFA rankings reflect the performance of the teams during the past four seasons before the start of the new season, as Manchester City won the Champions League in the 2022/2023 season after reaching the semi-finals in the previous season and reaching the final in 2021.
Last season, he won the first eight matches in the tournament, before ousting Real Madrid on penalties, and also lifted the European Super Cup for the first time. The English Premier League includes six clubs in the top twenty in the UEFA classification, with Liverpool in fourth place, Chelsea in ninth place, Manchester United in fourteenth place, West Ham in sixteenth place, and Arsenal in nineteenth place.
The tournament will be held with a new system that includes 32 teams, with eight matches played against different teams instead of the group stage.
