Toyota Sends a Shipment of Ambulances to Sudan

Minister of Finance, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, revealed that Toyota sent a shipment of ambulances, praising Toyota’s role in supporting humanitarian efforts, and expressed his appreciation for this humanitarian initiative that contributes to alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people.
The Minister called on Toyota to invest in extracting “lithium” in Sudan, which contributes to supporting the production of electric car batteries.
He affirmed during his meeting with Toyota officials in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, to discuss ways to enhance economic cooperation and partnership between the two countries that Sudan possesses enormous natural resources that can contribute to achieving this goal.
The meeting was attended from the Sudanese side by Ali Mohamed Ahmed Osman , Chargé d’Affairs of the Sudanese Embassy in Tokyo, and from the Japanese side by Ichiro Kashitani, President and Director of Toyota Tsusho, Kohei Okada, Executive Vice President of the Operations Department, and Shinichiro Otsuka, Executive Director of the Operations Department in Africa.
Jibril provided an update on the humanitarian situation in Sudan amid the ongoing war.
The two sides also discussed ways to build strategic partnerships between Sudan and Japan, where vocational training opportunities for Sudanese were discussed to enhance skills and competencies in the country.
The minister also called on Toyota to invest in the communications sector and expand the country’s communications network, in addition to investing in expanding the electricity grid and increasing energy production to support economic development in Sudan.
The two sides affirmed the importance of Toyota’s participation in the reconstruction phase and supporting infrastructure in Sudan after the war ends. The minister pointed out that Toyota employs more than 22,000 employees in Sudan, and there are plans to expand in Africa, of which Sudan will have a share once the war ends.
For their part, Toyota officials expressed their readiness to enhance cooperation with Sudan in various fields, stressing their commitment to supporting development efforts in the country and contributing to achieving economic stability.
