Citizens complained about the unprecedented acceleration in the prices of consumer goods.
The prices of consumer goods recorded a noticeable increase, and Sudan Events follow-ups revealed that the price of a 5-kilo bag of sugar rose to SDGs10,500 instead of SDGs 9,000 , while the price of a one-kilo bag of powdered milk rose to SDGs 23,000 compared to SDGs 12,000 two weeks ago, and the price of a 36-pound can of cooking oil rose to SDGs 60,000 , and a plate of eggs SDGs12,000 , and a kilo of veal rose to SDGs 12,000 , as for vegetable prices, there is a significant increase that some attributed to the seasonality and fall due to the difficulties facing traders in delivering vegetables from production areas to the markets, in addition to the security complications due to the ongoing war, as three small tomatoes are sold for SDGs3,000, and the price of a “box” of tomatoes jumped to SDGs 100,000, and the price of okra, eggplant and potatoes rose.
