White Nile Targets Cultivating more than (3) million acres

Governor of the White Nile, Omar Al-Khalifa Abdullah, directed to harness all capabilities and put in place the necessary technical arrangements to ensure the success of the summer agricultural season in coordination with farmers and all relevant authorities.
He said after chairing the joint meeting between the Ministries of Production and Economic and Financial Resources and representatives of farmers in the state and technical and security agencies, that the meeting aims to discuss the current situation of the summer agricultural season and the challenges it faces following the security incidents in Sennar state.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Production and Economic Resources in the state, Wasal Al-Sheikh Farah, announced a number of arrangements made by the state to provide fuel to farmers in the rain-fed and irrigated sectors.
She pointed out that the state aims to cultivate more than (3) million acres during this season, and called on farmers to pay attention to applying modern agricultural technologies to raise the level of vertical productivity to meet the country’s needs for summer crops and adapt to the current changes and obstacles facing the agricultural season in the state.
