The International Organization for Migration IOM said on Tuesday that more than 10 million Sudanese, or 20% of the population, have been displaced since the beginning of the war, as the world’s largest displacement crisis continues to worsen.
The International Organization for Migration IOM said in a bi-monthly report that more than 2.2 million people have fled to other countries since the outbreak of the war, while about 7.8 million have been internally displaced.
The IOM said that with the expansion of the Rapid Support RSF Militia’s operations in the southeast of the country in the past few weeks, more than 150,000 people have been displaced from Sennar state, many of them for the second or third time after the Rapid Support RSF Militia raided markets and homes in small towns and villages in the state.
