Killing of 9 people in a fire in a Residential Building in Port Sudan

The police announced, on Saturday, the death of (9) people as a result of a fire that broke out in one of the residential building in Salalab neighborhood in Port Sudan.
The Director of the Civil Defense Forces in the Red Sea state, Brig. General of Police Ahmed Mohamed Hamidan, said that the causes of the fire were due to an electrical short circuit, which led to the building burning immediately.
The Director of Civil Defense explained that upon receiving the report, the Civil Defense team and the operations vehicle were moved, led by an officer, and the Civil Defense Forces began rescue, extinguishing and cooling operations, where the team’s professionalism enabled them to evacuate and rescue a number of residents trapped and besieged on the ground floor.
The necessary emergency services were provided to them at the Accident Hospital and the Doctors Hospital, and they left the hospital after four of them were admitted in stable condition.
According to (the police press office), all legal and administrative measures related to the incident were taken by the Civil Defense.
