The Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan (CBS) Bur’ai Al-Siddiq, said that the Central Bank CB still has estimated reserves of foreign currency and gold.
He affirmed that despite what was spent on the war that has been going on for 15 months, the Bank of Sudan still has its significant reserves without support or borrowing from abroad.
Al-Siddiq explained that the Central Bank CB contributed from those reserves an amount of $ 250 million to the strategic goods import portfolio, which was deposited in the portfolio’s account abroad, as part of its efforts to maintain the stability of the exchange rate through a package of policies and procedures that are being implemented in very complicated situations to enhance the supply of foreign currency to meet the import of strategic goods.
Al-Siddiq affirmed in an intervention in the (Fourth Republic) group on the “WhatsApp” application that the capital of the portfolio is $1 billion .
