Inflation Rate rises for the Current year

The annual rate of change (inflation) for the first half of the current year 2024 witnessed an increase, recording 136.67%, and in 2023 it was 66.62% and in 2022 it reached 138.81%, while it was 359.09% in 2021.
The Central Agency for Statistics justified the increase because the country has witnessed an increase in the general level of prices in recent years, which had a noticeable impact on the inflation rate.
According to the Central Agency for Statistics memorandum on inflation, June witnessed the highest general inflation rate, reaching 158.16%, and also in urban and rural areas, reaching 155.89 and rural areas, reaching 159.43%.
The Central Bureau of Statistics attributed this increase in June to the rise in residential rents during the first half of 2024, reaching their highest level in June 2024. Eight states recorded a rate higher than the average of the first half of the current year, namely the states of the Northern , Kassala, followed by South Kordofan, while Khartoum state recorded the lowest average inflation rate.
