Chambers of Industry: Most of the Factories are under Occupation

Sudan Events – Nahid Oshi

Secretary-General of the Federation of Industrial Chambers, Dr. Abbas Ali Al-Sayed, criticised Bank of Sudan’s decisions to start the factories to pay their debts to the banks, starting next year, without regard to the current situation, stressing that most of the factories are under occupation, and they do not know what happened to them, nor the possibility of reaching them or recycling the production wheel. In a statement to Sudan Events , he said that the temporary controls issued by the Central Bank of Sudan CBS to address the losses of the war collide with the outcomes of the Port Sudan conference last May and the recommendations of the Arab League workshop. They remain from capital to abroad, which leads to an increase in unemployment rates and an imbalance in the trade balance, relying on imports to cover the gap caused by the absence of Sudanese industrial products.
