Director of Media at the Central Bank of Sudan CBS Dr. Abdul Rahman Ibn Auf, said that the reason for choosing the Bank of Khartoum for the strategic commodities portfolio specifically, rather than other banks, is that the Bank of Khartoum is the leading bank, meaning it is the manager of the portfolio, and it is generally determined either based on the size of its contribution to the portfolio or based on its experience and specialization in the field of the portfolio, and he stressed that the door is open for all banks to participate in the portfolio.
He said that the portfolio agreement stipulates the mobilization of financial resources to achieve the goals, and all banks can contribute and enter as an investor.
Ibn Auf added in a clarification on the “Media Persons of the Bank of Sudan” group, “This means that if there is a livestock portfolio, the livestock bank is usually the pioneer of the portfolio due to its experience and specialization in the field,” and he pointed out that in the past there was a portfolio for oilseeds and oils, and its pioneer was the Industrial Development Bank.
