Manchester United is intensifying its search for a new centre-back and striker, after both Lenny Euro and Rasmus Hojlund were injured during the team’s American tour in preparation for the new season. The recently arrived Euro will be out for three months, while the Danish Hojlund will be away from the team for 6 weeks, after they were injured in the match against Arsenal in Los Angeles. Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag is determined to compensate for the absence of the players, by signing two new players in the current summer transfer period. As for the centre-back position, Manchester United expressed its desire to sign both Everton player Jarrad Branthwaite and Bayern Munich player Matthijs de Ligt. As for the striker position, despite bringing in Dutchman Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for 36.5 million pounds, the club may consider signing Brentford and England striker Ivan Toney, according to the same newspaper.
