Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed he will try to shorten his team’s half-time talks after the club were fined £2m for delaying the restart of the Premier League.
Manchester City were fined by the Premier League for 22 separate offences over the past two seasons. Asked about the fine ahead of their friendly against Chelsea in Ohio. “I just read it in the news. I will try to make my half-time speeches shorter.” Guardiola said. Guardiola also spoke about his former assistant Enzo Maresca, who is taking charge of Chelsea. “I’m really happy for him. We had a great year together, he’s a great guy, he’s a lovely guy. And his family as well. He did a really, really good job at Leicester, he got them promoted to the Premier League and now they’re in one of the top five or six teams in England. I wish him the best because he deserves it. Good people deserve better. Being a coach means believing in something deeply, and no matter what the outcome, I stick to my idea, and that’s why I believe in what I’m doing. And he’s going to make it. I don’t know when, but he’s going to make it.” He said.
