Washington Envoy Reveals US Plan to stop Sudan war

Sudan Events – Agencies
US Special Envoy to Sudan Tom Perriello said that they are “confident that the Sudan war must end, and that the only way to end this war is through negotiations.”
He added that we have developed an initiative for peace talks based on consultations with the parties and with all countries in the region who continue to be concerned not only for the people of Sudan (which is our primary concern), but also for regional stability.
Perriello revealed in a press conference at the US embassy in Addis Ababa, on Friday,
three goals for the US plan to stop the war: a cessation of hostilities and then full humanitarian access to all eighteen states.
The third goal is to form a mechanism to monitor and enforce these two points after the agreement, and he continued, “For this reason, we believe that both sides must come to the talks and participate in good faith.”
“We designed the last round of negotiations based on Jeddah process based on the fact that we must be able to align both actors inside Sudan and actors outside Sudan in a common commitment to peace, a ceasefire and the enforcement of that ceasefire,” the US envoy added, affirming his invitation to the armed forces  SAF and the Rapid Support Forces RSF to the table as the warring parties.
The US envoy said he was horrified to hear about the assassination attempt on Commander Burhan, and denied that the US plan to stop the war was intended as propaganda for the Democrats in the upcoming US elections.
