Floods Cause Collapse of 70% of Houses in Abu Hamad
Sudan Events-Nahid Oshi
Floods and rains swept through the city of Abu Hamad, resulting in the collapse of about 70% of houses.
A large number of women, elderly people and children were injured and were transferred to the hospital.
Sources reported that houses were being destroyed one after the other amid cries for help, and the intensity of the rains and floods had not been witnessed in the city before.
Abu Hamad is considered the largest gold center (the gold capital).
After the war, it turned into a major economic center due to gold prospecting operations using traditional and modern methods in the countryside and deserts of the area.
