Gasperini: Atalanta star will not play in the European Super Cup

Gian Piero Gasperini, coach of the Italian club Atalanta, made fiery statements against the Dutch player Teun Koopmeiners, a few days before facing Real Madrid on August 14 in the European Super Cup.
“Koopmeiners already has an agreement with Juventus, and does not want to train with us. He is nervous, as he says, he will not play anymore and will remain off the field. The club feels blackmailed by this situation.” Gasperini said.
Juventus has identified the Dutchman Teun Koopmeiners as a main target to strengthen the midfield, especially after the suffering it faced with the suspension of Paul Pogba due to doping, and Nicolo Fagioli due to the betting scandal last season.
Juventus submitted its first official offer to Atalanta in recent days to sign Koopmeiners, proposing a deal worth 45 million euros, a figure much lower than the 60 million price set by the Atalanta team.
