Mining Companies in River Nile donate SDGs 250 million to Abu Hamad locality

General Manager of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company ( SMRC) Limited, Mohamed Tahir Omar, conducted an inspection tour of the sites of companies operating in the mining field in Abu Hamad locality this morning, Friday, during which he reassured himself of the implementation of environmental requirements and necessary precautions to prevent the leakage of chemicals as a result of the floods and rains that recently swept the region.
Mohamed Tahir confirmed that there is no threat to the environment or the safety of citizens, and praised the companies’ commitment to environmental requirements and implementation of the directives issued by the company’s management to put in place the necessary precautions for the fall season.
His Excellency informed the owners of companies operating in Abu Hamad locality that the coming period will witness unprecedented stability and an increase in gold production.
He attributed this to the tight coordination carried out by the company with the competent authorities in the state, and praised the companies’ support for those affected in Abu Hamad locality and harnessing all their capabilities to mitigate the damage to the locality. During the coordination meeting held by the General Manager of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company SMRC and the accompanying delegation with the mining companies to support those affected in Abu Hamad locality, the total donations of mining companies operating in Abu Hamad locality exceeded SDGs 250 million .
For their part, representatives of the companies operating in Abu Hamad locality announced their support and assistance to those affected in the locality and providing all assistance to mitigate the damage they suffered.
They affirmed that the use of chemicals in the companies’ sites is done in accordance with strict environmental requirements and there is no threat to the environment.
