Sudan Events – Agencies
Media outlets have reported that Maximilian Pier, the German national team striker, will transfer to Borussia Dortmund from Hoffenheim.
According to the “German News Agency,” Pier (21 years old), who played in only one match during Germany’s Euro 2024 campaign, will sign a five-year contract with the Champions League runners-up. Borussia Dortmund, who also finished fifth in the Bundesliga last season, will pay €30 million ($33 million) for the transfer.
Pier, who is under contract with Hoffenheim until 2027, will replace Niclas Füllkrug, who transferred from Dortmund to West Ham United.
Pier scored 16 goals last season and can play in multiple attacking positions. Several reports indicate that his medical examination is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday.
If everything goes well, the new player will be in Dortmund’s squad for their first-round match of the DFB-Pokal against Phoenix Lübeck next Saturday.
Borussia Dortmund has signed several players during this summer transfer window, including Stuttgart duo Serhou Guirassy and Waldemar Anton, as well as Pascal Groß from Brighton and Yan Couto from Manchester City.
Signing Pier would make Dortmund’s striker Youssoufa Moukoko more likely to leave.
