Al-Burhan Arrives in Luanda, Briefs Angolan President on Their Response to All Peace Initiatives

The President of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, arrived in the Angolan capital, Luanda, on Monday for an official visit at the invitation of Angolan President João Lourenço.
A formal reception ceremony was held for the President of the Sovereignty Council at the presidential palace in Luanda.
The two sides entered into official joint talks that touched on the deep-rooted relations between Sudan and Angola and ways to support and develop them for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
During his meeting with the Angolan president, Al-Burhan provided a detailed explanation of the current situation in Sudan in light of the rebellion led by the Rapid Support Forces militia against the state and its institutions, affirming the government’s response to all proposed peace initiatives, as it believes in the importance of peace and stability. He noted the agreement signed in Jeddah and the non-compliance of the rebel militia with its outcomes.
The Angolan president thanked the President of the Sovereignty Council for accepting the invitation to visit Angola, noting the strong relations between the two countries.
