Sudan Events – Reports
Minister of Finance Dr. Gabriel Ibrahim confirmed that the federal government will not return from Port Sudan before the implementation and achievement of the city’s electricity and water projects.
Speaking on Monday at the launch of the Kalanib Electricity Project at Coral Hotel in Port Sudan, Gabriel said that the presence of the federal government in Port Sudan is not a burden on the city and its people, but rather a golden opportunity to achieve services.
Gabriel pointed out that electricity has become a necessity of life, as electronic education and healthcare require electricity. He confirmed that electricity has reached at least 60% of the Sudanese people, considering that electricity is a right for every citizen. He called on the Ministry of Energy and the National Energy and Engineering Company to produce clean electricity and to expand energy production by diversifying other sources of generation.
