James Milner Begins His 23rd Season in the Premier League

James Milner started his 23rd season in the Premier League when he was in Brighton’s starting lineup against Everton on Saturday, in the new season opener.
Milner, 38, is seven years older than his team’s coach, Fabian Hürzeler, and he made his first appearance in the league in 2002 when he was with Leeds United.
Milner is entering his second season with Brighton, and he made his 636th Premier League appearance, 17 matches behind the record held by Gareth Barry.
Milner has also played for Newcastle, Aston Villa, Manchester City, and Liverpool.
Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs shares the record with Milner, having played 22 seasons in the Premier League with his team.
