Health: Cholera Cases Rise to 354, with 22 Deaths

Minister of Health Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim announced that the number of cholera cases has risen to 354, with 22 deaths reported.
On Sunday, Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar, held a meeting with the Minister of Health, the Director of Medical Supplies, Badruddin Al-Jazouli, the Director of Therapeutic Medicine, Al-Mughirah Al-Amin, and the Therapeutic Medicine Advisor, Ismat Mustafa.
In a press statement, Minister of Health Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim stated that “the number of cholera cases has reached 354, with 22 deaths recorded,” confirming that the ministry plans to reach out to the international community to secure vaccines for the epidemic.
The minister pledged to work on stabilizing the supply of medicines, especially for those with chronic illnesses, and to coordinate with relevant entities to provide safe drinking water and combat disease vectors.
He announced that the Ministry of Finance has allocated one billion Sudanese pounds to fight epidemics.
Ibrahim also revealed plans to deliver 60 tons of medicine to the Blue Nile region, stressing that the ministry is working to deliver supplies by all means, including air drops, despite the challenges.
