Sudan Events – Agencies

Ukrainian forces, on Sunday, shelled a second bridge in Russia’s Kursk region as part of efforts to disrupt the Russian military’s operations in the area, according to Ukrainian air forces.

The commander of the Ukrainian air forces, Mykola Oleschuk, said, “Another bridge has been destroyed. Air Force aircraft continue to deprive the enemy of their logistical capabilities through precise airstrikes,” according to the French news agency AFP.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Friday, stated that Ukraine used Western-made missiles, likely American HIMARS missiles, to destroy a bridge over the Seym River in the Kursk region, resulting in the deaths of volunteers who were attempting to evacuate civilians.

Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said, “As a result of the attack on the bridge over the Seym River in the Glushkovo area, it was completely destroyed, and volunteers who were assisting civilians in evacuating were killed.”

Ukrainian forces launched a surprise attack on Russia’s Kursk region, and the Ukrainian General Staff stated on Friday that their forces are continuing to advance into the Kursk region, located in southern Russia. Kyiv claims that Ukrainian forces are still advancing and have managed to gain control over more than 80 areas covering 1,500 square kilometers. Russia has denied this claim.
