MASHAD: Over (21) Women Raped in Sennar
Sudan Events – Reports
The Youth for Darfur Observatory (MASHAD) reported that over 21 women were raped after the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia attacked Sennar State.
The observatory clarified that among the women raped were girls under the age of 18. It stated that the rapes occurred in different areas of Sennar State.
The observatory’s follow-ups revealed that the forces committed brutal violations against civilians during their attack on villages, including killing, torture, looting, and rape, forcing many to leave their areas to preserve their lives.
The observatory urged humanitarian organizations to continue their efforts to meet the basic needs of those affected by the war in Sennar State, where civilians suffer from a severe deterioration in humanitarian conditions.
The Youth for Darfur Human Rights Observatory stated that the continued RSF crimes and their direct targeting of civilians represent a flagrant violation of human rights, a systematic act to humiliate the Sudanese people and degrade their dignity.
The MASHAD Human Rights Observatory called on international and regional human rights organizations to take immediate action to protect Sudanese women, prevent harm to civilians, document the RSF’s crimes for presentation in international justice institutions, and work on classifying them as a highly dangerous terrorist organization against civilians.
