White Nile State Governor Opens Development Projects in Tandalti

On Thursday, the Governor of White Nile, Omar Khalifa Abdullah, inaugurates a project to pump water from the Umm Kitirat underground basin to the city of Tandalti over a distance of more than nine kilometers, costing more than two billion and five hundred million pounds, funded by the state government. The governor will also open the military hospital, new buildings for the local headquarters and sanitation project buildings, and Al-Salama neighborhood health center.
The governor will also attend a circumcision program by the Zakat Chamber for more than 250 children from newcomers to the locality.
According to the Sudan News Agency, the Executive Director of Tandalti locality, Hisham Al-Sheikh, stated that the locality has completed its preparations to receive the governor and his government members to inaugurate several developmental and service projects in the locality.
In this context, the Director of the General Administration of Drinking Water in the state, Rahma Al-Imam, explained that the Umm Kitirat water station project produces three thousand cubic meters per day and the water line from Umm Kitirat to Tandalti city is more than 9 square kilometers long and that the cost of the project exceeded two billion and five hundred million pounds. Rahma Al-Imam noted that the water sector is witnessing the implementation of several projects despite the war economy, as work is underway to complete the Abu Talih station in Rabak and the Duim water station and provide new water pumps for Jabalin and Rabak stations.
