Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen’s Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement, threatened Israel with “painful” attacks from the “Resistance Axis,” as three ships were attacked in the Red Sea over the past 24 hours.
In a televised speech on Thursday, al-Houthi stated, “The retaliation from the Resistance Axis is coming” for the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in South Beirut.
He emphasized that the retaliation would be “painful and effective,” noting that the planning for it is one of the reasons for the delay, adding, “The enemy’s anxiety and anticipation are part of the response.”
In his speech, al-Houthi praised the Colombian President’s decision to ban coal exports to Israel to avoid contributing to the suffering of the Palestinian people, while some Arab regimes export fruits and foodstuffs to the Israeli enemy, as he put it.
Al-Houthi also announced new figures for the group’s operations, stating that they carried out 21 operations this week, using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, drones, and naval boats.
He further mentioned that the number of ships targeted for their connection to Israel and their violation of the Houthi-declared blockade has reached 182 since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza.
On another note, Houthi claimed that U.S. forces conducted five airstrikes on Yemen’s Al-Hudaydah province this week.
