Sudan Events – Agencies
The Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the BRICS summit in the Russian city of Kazan in October, according to a report by the Russian news agency on Saturday, citing the Chinese envoy to Moscow. The BRICS summit is scheduled to take place from October 22 to 24.
Originally, the BRICS group included Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, and its name is derived from the first letters of these countries in English. Last year, the group began expanding its membership to challenge the global system dominated by Western economies, inviting Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, Argentina, and the United Arab Emirates to join. Over 40 countries have expressed interest in joining.
According to the Russian Export Center “Agroexport,” the BRICS group represents more than 30 percent of the world’s agricultural land. Additionally, the group accounts for more than 40 percent of the world’s grain and meat production, nearly 40 percent of dairy products, and more than 50 percent of the total production of fish and seafood.
