Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz shined brightly, leading Liverpool to a 2-0 victory over Brentford at Anfield in the final match of the second round of the English Premier League on Sunday. According to the German Press Agency, Diaz scored the first goal for Liverpool 13 minutes into the match, capitalizing on a quick counter-attack initiated by Salah, who passed the ball to Diogo Jota. Jota then fed the ball to Colombian forward Diaz, who struck it powerfully into the net from inside the penalty area.
Salah added the second goal for Liverpool in the 70th minute, benefiting from a pass by Luis Diaz. This marked Salah’s second goal of the season, having scored against Ipswich Town in the first round. Salah successfully netted goals in the first two rounds of the Premier League for the first time in his career.
Salah also increased his tally to six goals against Brentford, making him the player who has scored the most against the team, nicknamed “The Bees,” in the Premier League. Liverpool now has six points, achieving a perfect record in their first two matches, matching Arsenal, Brighton, and defending champions Manchester City, who top the table on goal difference.
Meanwhile, Brentford remains at three points, dropping to 13th place at the end of the round.
