Kuwaiti Patient Aid Fund Continues to Combat Cholera in Kassala

The Kuwaiti Patient Aid Fund office in Sudan continues its efforts to combat the cholera epidemic in Kassala as part of its emergency humanitarian and health projects, supported by and in partnership with the Kuwaiti Patient Aid Fund Association.
Project Director Latifa Mohamed Aman stated that the project activities are progressing well according to the set plan, which includes chlorination and safety of drinking water sources in Kassala locality, food and beverage monitoring, environmental sanitation, waste transportation, larval fly control, and health promotion through community mobilization, including home visits, mobile cinema, and media awareness.
The project targets all neighborhoods in Kassala locality, focusing on areas where cases have been recorded. About 150 supervisors, technicians, and health workers are participating.
Dr. Abdelmajid Fadlallah, the Executive Director of the Kuwaiti Patient Aid Fund office in Sudan, emphasized in a press statement at the fund’s office in Kassala the importance of maintaining partnerships with stakeholders to achieve joint projects that support and sustain the health system, especially in this exceptional period the country is going through due to the effects of war and the rainy season. He thanked the state government, health and humanitarian work partners, and the leadership of the Kuwaiti Patient Aid Fund for their support of projects aimed at controlling epidemics and sustaining health services, particularly cholera, highlighting the importance of coordination to ensure the success of the campaign and the eradication of the epidemic.
