Minister of Finance Pledges to Address Port Sudan’s Water Problem

Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Dr. Jibril Ibrahim promised to implement comprehensive solutions to the water problem in Port Sudan by coordinating with all relevant state agencies under an integrated plan.
During his inspection visit to the areas affected by the collapse of the Arbaat Dam in Port Sudan, he emphasized the government’s priority in rehabilitating the Arbaat Dam, along with ensuring the cleanliness and reoperation of the region’s wells in coordination with the local population to secure water for the Arbaat area and the city of Port Sudan.
The minister also stressed the government’s focus on rebuilding infrastructure and working to better mitigate the impact of natural disasters on citizens.
For her part, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid, Salwa Baniya, affirmed the commission’s commitment to continuing to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by floods and torrents in the country, in coordination with the government, UN organizations, and humanitarian agencies. She praised the assistance provided by the King Salman Center in Saudi Arabia, in coordination with national organizations.
