Champions League Draw: Ronaldo Receives Special UEFA Award

Veteran Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo received a special award from UEFA on Thursday during the Champions League group stage draw held in Monaco.
Ronaldo, currently playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, was honored for being the all-time top scorer in the Champions League.
Ronaldo scored 140 goals throughout his career in the competition, playing for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus. UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin, who presented the award to the legendary player, said, “Ronaldo’s career needs more than two hours to discuss. Scoring 140 goals is extraordinary. It’s a remarkable journey. I don’t know how you top that.”
Čeferin added, “When we think of football, we must think of Ronaldo. He truly deserves this award.” He concluded by saying, “Unfortunately, Ronaldo is not currently playing in Europe at the club level, but we hope he returns to the continent one day.”
Ronaldo commented, “I played in the Asian Champions League with Al-Nassr, just as I did in the European Champions League. I’m very happy to be here. Thank you for this award, which means a lot to me.” Ronaldo also noted, “I believe the Champions League is the pinnacle of football.
