Coordination Between Al-Jazeera and Al-Qadarif to Provide Production Tools for Displaced Persons

Acting Director General of the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources in Al-Jazeera State, Arefa Mahmoud, discussed ways to support displaced persons in Al-Jazeera State by providing them with agricultural production tools. This will be done through partnership and cooperation with official and popular entities, as well as organizations working in the field of agricultural production support.
Arefa met with Acting Minister of Production in Al-Qadarif State, Ammar Abdullah, in the presence of several representatives of the rainfed farming sector in Al-Jazeera State. The meeting reviewed the possibilities of joint coordination and cooperation between the two sides to support the displaced persons in Al-Jazeera State with various agricultural production tools, especially seeds, as soon as possible to catch up with the current summer season. This aims to enhance food security for the residents of the state in particular and Sudan in general.
Arefa stressed the need to mobilize efforts and work together among all parties to ensure the success of the current agricultural season. She noted that her visit to Al-Qadarif State is part of the efforts to strengthen coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Production in Al-Qadarif State and the FAO to provide the necessary support to the displaced persons in Al-Jazeera State and integrate them into the production cycle by providing seeds and utilizing all possible resources to enhance food security for displaced families.
For his part, the Director General of the Ministry of Production in Al-Qadarif expressed his full support and cooperation with the Ministry of Production in Al-Jazeera to assist displaced persons in Al-Jazeera with agricultural inputs in collaboration with various organizations, particularly the FAO. He praised the initiative by the Ministry of Production in Al-Jazeera, considering it a fundamental step toward achieving food security for the displaced. He also noted that the summer season in Al-Qadarif State promises great success based on the rainfall rates and the areas that have been cultivated.
