Sudan Events – Reports
The meeting of the Finance and Health Services Committee, stemming from the Board of Directors of the National Health Insurance Fund, chaired by Federal Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, approved a recommendation to increase funding for health insurance. This is to enable the implementation of its tasks in light of inflation and the excessive increase in the number of people seeking health services under the current circumstances. The meeting also approved the study conducted by the National Health Insurance Fund to develop medical services and agreed on unifying service prices across the states.
During the meeting, the Health Insurance presented a detailed report on the process of restoring insurance services in all states, along with calculating the value of monthly subscriptions according to changes and variables. It also included the usage of health services and patient frequencies. The study, approved by the meeting, highlighted the noticeable increase in the number of beneficiaries of health insurance services in the areas of primary health care, in addition to specialist consultations and chronic diseases, as well as the increase in services for displaced persons and newcomers.
