Khartoum Roads and Bridges: Completion of White Valley Dam Maintenance
Sudan Events – Follow-ups
On Sunday, the Director-General of the Roads, Bridges, and Water Drainage Authority in Khartoum State, Mukhtar Omar Saber, inspected the rehabilitation works of the White Valley Dam, whose final maintenance has been completed, with a storage capacity of one and a half million cubic meters of water.
Mukhtar mentioned that the dam faced some issues in previous years, but within just 15 days, all civil works and protective measures for the dam were completed. He assured that the dam could accommodate the incoming water from the White Valley and Heglig Valley, confirming that the water reserve will be ready for use, whether for irrigating agricultural projects or watering livestock in the area.
The Director-General of the Roads, Bridges, and Water Drainage Authority in Khartoum praised the contractors who managed rainwater drainage this year and remain stationed at their sites to facilitate rainwater drainage in the Karrari and Omdurman localities.
