Rapid Support Forces Coerce Villagers in Dinder to Enlist Citizens

Sudan Events – Agencies

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attacked several villages west of Dinder, looting livestock and what little savings the residents had left. The Dinder Emergency Room reported that yesterday, the RSF attacked the villages of Al-Daliba and Wad Sharashara, subjecting the residents to various forms of torture.

The Emergency Room indicated that the RSF attempted to force the villagers to enlist their sons into the ranks of the RSF, threatening to plunder the villages if they refused.

The Emergency Room warned that the villages of Kamarab and Al-Fresh remain a threat to all the inhabitants of the area, as they serve as bases for the RSF. They noted that these attacks have led to the failure of the agricultural season, displacement of residents from their homes, and looting of farming equipment and seeds. The RSF has stripped the area of its basic necessities, including the looting and destruction of rural hospitals and shops.

The Emergency Room revealed that the residents of Dinder are suffering from RSF violations and the extremely complex rainy season conditions. They warned of a total lack of life-saving medicines amidst a malaria outbreak this season, along with the risks of waterborne diseases and eye infections that have spread across many areas of Sudan.

The Emergency Room also drew attention to the tragic situation of the displaced people from Dinder, who are now in the Hawata area, where malaria and eye infections are rampant. They mentioned that these displaced people have only received support from some local residents and highlighted the local authorities’ restrictions in Hawata, which make it difficult for them to obtain essential goods and medicines for chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and kidney disease, under the pretext that these supplies might be smuggled to the RSF.
