France Football Announces Nominees for Best in the World Awards

The French magazine “France Football” revealed the list of nominees for several individual awards recognizing the best in football worldwide this year.
According to the German News Agency, the French magazine has nominated 10 players for the “Kopa” award for the best young player in the world. The list includes Barcelona and Spain duo Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi, Paris Saint-Germain’s Warren Zaïre-Emery and Portuguese João Neves, who joined from Benfica this summer.
Other nominees include Argentina’s Alejandro Garnacho, England’s Kobbie Mainoo from Manchester United, Netherlands’ Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich, Ivorian Karim Konaté from Austria’s Salzburg, Turkey’s Arda Güler from Real Madrid, and Brazil’s Savinho from Manchester City, who joined from Girona this summer.
For the “Yashin” award for the best goalkeeper in the world, 10 goalkeepers were nominated, including last year’s winner, Argentine Emiliano Martínez (Aston Villa), Italy’s Gianluigi Donnarumma (Paris Saint-Germain), Swiss duo Yann Sommer (Inter Milan) and Gregor Kobel (Borussia Dortmund), along with Giorgi Mamardashvili from Georgia (Valencia), Portugal’s Diogo Costa (Porto), Spain’s Unai Simón (Athletic Bilbao), Ukraine’s Andriy Lunin (Real Madrid), and South Africa’s Ronwen Williams (Sundowns).
The nominees for the best coach award include Italy’s Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid) and Gian Piero Gasperini (Atalanta), alongside Spain’s Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Xabi Alonso (Bayer Leverkusen), Luis de la Fuente (Spain National Team), and Argentina’s Lionel Scaloni (Argentina National Team).
Five clubs have been nominated for the best club award: Real Madrid (Spain), Borussia Dortmund (Germany), Bayer Leverkusen (Germany), Manchester City (England), and Girona (Spain).
The 68th Ballon d’Or ceremony will be held on October 28th in one of Paris’s theaters.
