The RSF continues shelling El Fasher
Sudan Events – Agencies
The artillery shelling by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the city of El Fasher continued this morning, while the Kassab camp for displaced persons is witnessing catastrophic conditions due to rain and floods.
The Coordination Committees of El Fasher Resistance stated that the city is under intense artillery bombardment targeting residential areas, hospitals, and shelter centers.
Meanwhile, a report published by the Committees’ account on Facebook today revealed that the Kassab camp for displaced persons in the locality of Kutum, North Darfur state, is facing a real humanitarian disaster following heavy rains that lasted about 15 hours last night. The report stated that five displaced persons lost their lives, and severe damage occurred to homes within the camp, leading to the displacement of many families.
The displaced people in the camp are facing catastrophic conditions due to the deteriorating food situation and a shortage of supplies. In addition, the weather forecast predicts continued unstable weather and the possibility of more heavy rain in the state.
The committees issued an urgent appeal to international and local humanitarian organizations to intervene immediately and provide necessary aid to the displaced persons in the camp.
