Sudan Events – Agencies
Next week, Transitional Sovereignty Council Member Rear Admiral Ibrahim Jaber will inaugurate eight new rubber-tired cranes and five lifting mechanisms, under the supervision of the Minister of Transport.
The Director of the Sea Ports Corporation, Captain Mohamed Hassan Mukhtar, said that all arrangements have been made for the inauguration, which is part of the authority’s plan to develop the ports in coordination with partners. He noted that the new equipment would bring a significant shift in handling and speeding up export and import operations.
Some of the machinery, which has been in service for over 45 years, has been rehabilitated and maintained by local experts. Mukhtar emphasized that this move is essential to facilitate exports and imports despite the current challenges, and confirmed the authority’s cooperation with the military to combat economic wars. Workers at the ports have pledged their solidarity with the armed forces to drive the economy forward.
