Lebanon: Hezbollah Bombards Israeli Base with Katyusha Missiles

Hezbollah announced today (Saturday) the shelling of the Israeli Jabal Neria base with a barrage of Katyusha missiles. According to a statement from Hezbollah, reported by the National News Agency, the bombardment came in support of the resilient Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in response to “the Israeli enemy’s attacks on southern villages and peaceful homes, especially the recent assault on the town of Fron.” The base serves as a command post currently operated by the Golani Brigade.

   The border areas in southern Lebanon have witnessed exchanges of fire between the Israeli army and Hezbollah since October 8, following Israel’s declaration of war on Gaza and Hezbollah’s announcement of its support for the residents of the Strip.
