Pakistan: Nine Militants Killed in Clashes

Pakistan announced today (Saturday) that nine terrorists were killed in clashes in the northwestern and southwestern parts of the country, according to the “German News Agency.” The military’s media wing announced that security forces foiled a deadly attack on a Border Guard headquarters, resulting in the killing of a group of four suicide bombers in the Mohmand area of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. According to the Pakistan Army’s public relations department, the militants were eliminated early yesterday (Friday) while attempting to attack the Border Guard headquarters, as reported by Pakistan’s Geo News.
Meanwhile, five militants were killed in a shootout with security forces in the Surkhab refugee camp in the Pishin district of southwestern Balochistan province. According to a spokesperson for the Counter-Terrorism Department, a large cache of weapons and ammunition was discovered in the hideout of the slain terrorists. The identities of the militants were not disclosed, but the Pakistani Taliban and the Balochistan Liberation Army frequently carry out attacks against security forces in the country.
