Khartoum Emphasizes No Land Transactions After War Outbreak
Sudan Events – Reports
The Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Othman Hamza, held a meeting with Omar Ahmed, Assistant General Registrar of Sudanese Lands, in the presence of Ahmed Yahya, Director General of Khartoum Lands, and Mohamed Al-Kamil Nour Al-Daim, representative of the land registration department.
The meeting reinforced the enforcement of the judiciary’s decision not to recognize any land transactions after April 15, 2023. The land registration offices will not accept any transactions made after this date, and if sales were conducted through acknowledgment or a power of attorney, they will only be recognized after issuing a search certificate.
The Assistant Land Registrar affirmed that there are various methods for detecting any criminal activities related to land. Governor Hamza stated that despite the attacks on land offices and registrations, any illegal practices will not be acknowledged.
He urged citizens to avoid falling victim to fraud in land sales and purchases. The meeting also confirmed Khartoum’s plan to partially resume planning and organizing rural villages, focusing on Karrari villages. The Assistant Registrar expressed full readiness to resume registration activities in response to the northern rural area planning requirements.
