World Cup Qualifiers: Australia Without a Win for the Second Match

Sudan Events – Agencies
Australia suffered another disappointing result in the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, drawing 0-0 with hosts Indonesia on Tuesday.
The Socceroos traveled to Jakarta hoping to bounce back from their 1-0 loss to Bahrain but came close to scoring when Nestory Irankunda’s low shot hit the post in the 33rd minute. Coach Graham Arnold’s team couldn’t find a way past Indonesia’s goalkeeper, Martin Paes, who earned his team a second point after a 0-0 draw against Saudi Arabia last Thursday.
In other matches today in Group A, Uzbekistan is playing away against Kyrgyzstan, while the UAE looks to build on their victory over Qatar as they face Iran in Al Ain.
Bahrain is set to host Japan later in the day in a clash of the only two teams that won in the first round of Group C. Coach Dragan Talajic’s Bahrain aims to outdo Japan, who scored seven goals against China in their opener.
Iraq travels to face Kuwait in Group B, while Palestine meets Jordan, and South Korea takes on Oman in Muscat.
