Cash Assistance for Northern State Arrivals

The Executive Director of the Merowe locality, Mahjoub Mohamed Sayed Ahmed, praised the efforts of the World Food Program, the Sudanese Red Crescent Society, and all foreign and national voluntary organizations supporting those affected by the floods and rains, as well as the arrivals in the locality due to the consequences of the war.
He called for more support and humanitarian aid for those affected.
Mahjoub launched the direct cash assistance program provided by the World Food Program for several arrivals in the shelter centers through the Sudanese Red Crescent Society in the locality, in the presence of the World Food Program delegation from the center and the state, the locality’s Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, and the Director of Karima Administrative Unit.
Ahmed Madathir, supervisor of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society in the locality, explained that the program targeted distributing food materials to 1,952 families affected by the floods and rains and a direct cash payment program for 3,887 families of arrivals in the shelter centers.
