Cristiano Ronaldo: Ten Hag Creates a Negative Atmosphere at Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo, the Saudi Al-Nassr striker, stated that Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag creates a highly negative atmosphere at the club with his recent comments.
According to Deutsche Presse-Agentur, a conflict arose between the Portuguese star and Ten Hag before the end of Ronaldo’s second stint at Old Trafford in late 2022.
In a podcast episode with former English star Rio Ferdinand, set to air tomorrow, Thursday, Ronaldo said: “I believe Manchester needs to rebuild everything.”
He added, “The coach says the team cannot compete for the league or the Champions League, which is unacceptable. A Manchester United coach should never say that. Instead, he should say, ‘We will fight to win the league and the Champions League.'”
He continued, “You should tell yourself that maybe we don’t have the resources, but I wouldn’t say that openly. Instead, we should try, and we must try.”
British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe purchased a 27.7% stake in Manchester United, a club that has not won the Premier League title since the legendary coach Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure in 2013.
Despite the shocking surprise of winning the FA Cup by defeating Manchester City in the final, Manchester United finished last season in their worst position in the Premier League, securing only 60 points to place eighth.
United, who have won the league title 20 times, began their campaign this season by winning 1-0 against Fulham, but they subsequently lost two consecutive matches to Brighton and Liverpool before the international break.
Ronaldo commented, “This club needs time to rebuild because it remains one of the best in the world, but they need change.”
He noted that “they understand the truth of what I’m saying, and that is the only way. That’s why they’ve started changing the administrative structure, the president, infrastructure, and ownership.”
Ronaldo emphasized, “I believe the future will be bright, but it cannot solely rely on talent; everyone at the club must unite, not just the players.”
He concluded, “They can win the Carabao Cup, but winning the league, the Champions League, or the Europa League will be tough. I hope I’m wrong, but the task is difficult.”
