Inter and Milan Reject the San Siro Stadium Renovation Project

Sudan Events – Agencies
San Siro Mayor Giuseppe Sala announced on Friday that both Inter Milan and AC Milan have rejected the proposed renovation project for their iconic stadium.
According to Agence France-Presse, Sala said after meeting with officials from both clubs: “The two clubs rejected the renovation of San Siro proposed by the construction group We Build. They have conducted detailed analyses of the technical and economic feasibility, and their conclusion is that this project cannot be implemented at a sustainable cost, and they do not wish to move forward in this direction.”
However, Sala noted that “the clubs would be ready to relaunch the original project to build a new stadium directly adjacent to San Siro.”
Sala added: “This issue is not starting from scratch, but there is resistance from local residents. They must present us with a project within a fairly short time frame, but building stadiums in Italy is never easy; it’s always very complex.”
In their efforts to increase revenues, the two clubs, who have won the Champions League 10 times between them, have expressed their desire to leave San Siro, which is owned by the city of Milan.
