Milan Confirms Ismaël Bennacer’s Absence Until the End of 2024

Sudan Events – Agencies
Italian club AC Milan has announced that Algerian midfielder Ismaël Bennacer will be out of action until the end of 2024. The Italian club revealed in a statement on its official website that Bennacer underwent surgery on his leg in Finland on Monday morning.
The statement noted that the Algerian international will need four months to recover from the surgery.
Milan started its Serie A campaign with modest results this season, securing only one win, two draws, and one loss in the first four matches. The Italian team is preparing for two major upcoming fixtures in the next few days: a Champions League opener against Liverpool on Tuesday, followed by the Milan derby against archrival Inter Milan next Sunday in the fifth round of the league.
The surgery will also prevent Bennacer from continuing his journey with the Algerian national team in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Algeria will play four matches against Togo in October, then face Equatorial Guinea and Liberia in November.
The Algerian national team began their qualifying campaign with two wins over Equatorial Guinea and Liberia last week.
