Sudan Events – Agencies
At least four workers were killed, and ten others were injured in an explosion on Tuesday at a gas field under construction in Uzbekistan, authorities said on Wednesday. The state agency “UzA” reported that “four specialists were killed, and 11 others were injured” in the incident near Boason (in the south). This incident follows another explosion at the same field on September 1, which released deadly hydrogen sulfide gas for two weeks. Around 7,000 workers are involved in building this gas and chemical complex, which is being constructed with foreign funding and is expected to produce five billion cubic meters of gas annually once completed.
